Being able to farm is pretty valuable when you need to buy sigils to PvP.

Yes you can farm the hall chest blah blah.

3-5 vs 14-14 hmm
While i do know how haxx the wintergreen weapons are (inscription slot, fully modable, decent damage with no req), i really dont know if its widely distributed enough to be available to every pve-er who wants to pvp.

I think, it would be more accurate to say, that the wintergreen items give advantage not to PvE characters, but rather to players who are savy and saw the potential.

Do people still buy minipets for that much? I dont know if minipets are really a viable source of steady income. (outside of rebuying/reselling)

Tisn't unless you get lucky.

But all in all, PvP characters are slightly superior, as in they can make and re-make armor to their *insert size here* hearts desire.

why was the increased attack rate removed from the fire wand at the collector outside of Nolani Academy ? it wasn't max dmg, if I remember right it was a crap item with ias, how could you abuse it ?

All IAS in the game is through a skill, wether stance or hex (reckless haste), but the Nolani wand was an anomally, since it was IAS built into a weapon, essentially a passive trait.

This was very interesting for warriors, because they would use it to wand targets from a distance and quickly build adrenaline, particularly in those moments in HoH, when the teams are waiting the timer out, and just kinda..."testing" the other teams, not really engaging each other yet.

It sounds like PvE skins for PvP chars will be more work to obtain than PvE skins for PvE chars. This is a goodie for complete PvP freaks, nothing more.

So, stop crying. =P

Just one thing..if PvE characters could craft PvP weapons and armor in Arenas and such, what point is there to PvP characters at all? If you have the slots, you can just have 10 PvEs..or am I missing something?

They should seriously eliminate the PvP-only characters and just do what they're planning on GW2 with this GW - create a character and when you take it over to PvP, they are instantly maxxed out, with interchangeable gear (I guess whatever runes/inscriptions and skills you have unlocked) just like PvP characters have. Of course, same for heroes, too. That would be the best balance, and Anet thinks so, too, since they're going to do that with GW2 (except with UAS - which can't be done now because of the online store option).

Hi

none of those are reasons why people bring pve chars to pvp. People use pve toons in pvp because the armor looks good, all other items you can get for all your pvp chars with just 1 guy farming for them, which is what everyone who's not interested in shiny armor does.

except for maybe a very low lvl pet in a very specific build, that would be reason to bring a pve ranger.

Actually, I like the fact that we'll be able to unlock skins in PvP. I have no preference either way. I was curious if dyes would be unlockable, though. I simply have just never heard it brought up.

Or, here's another theory. You're wrong. There are LOTS of PvPers who have PvE characters simply because they have an advantage of items that you simply cannot get as a PvP character. One of the better examples is the shield that Tommy (was in QQ, now iQ) owns. It is req7 Tactics, +30hp and -3 (while hexed). This is a whole 2 tactics less than a PvP shield, which means that Tommy can spec higher into other attributes, but also due to the req7, can spec 7 in Tactics easily, and get the full 16AL.

They really should allow PvP-only characters to purchase a "lower requirement" upgrade for items, allowing up to two decreases (8 and 7 respectively) in standard PvP equipment. The other factors mentioned in Narcism's post are also things that need to be addressed, most definitely.

That'd be a better reward for AT's, rather than skins. Being able to spend Reward points on items that can only be gotten through PvE, such as low req weapons/shields, and different pets, and items such as the Nolani Wand and such. That's actually a cool idea, nice one arcane

Really?...you are going to take a wand with +5 energy 25% dmg vs char (wand that you get at collector and with not even max dmg)... instead of a +5 energy maartial weapon with Hp mods or 20% enchant... Right... >.>

Or going for a wand with +5 energy permanent and 20 recharge or casting whatever... not that i've seen those drops either...?

+5energy martial weapons > wands. Enough said.

You OBVIOUSLY never played PvP when the Nolani Wand was un-nerfed. It had a 10 or 15% IAS attached to it, as well as 5 energy unconditional. Warriors would equip it in order to gain adrenaline quickly, without having to beat on a target with their primary weapon. It meant that they could charge skills without engaging. This is still true, as you get the +5e and longer range of the wand, so that you can safely build adren. It was never used as a caster weapon...
